Jury was one of the
original members of the Deface crew. His thought provoking art inspired
the name Deface Marketing, because he paints on currency. Thus defacing government
property. But his artwork is not solely an act of rebellion, it’s
a challenge to think freely and to ponder, what you hold true
and dear. www.JuryTheClown.com
Sickle Cell
Sickle was the first horror core or acid rap artist to
sign with Deface. He opened the doors and inspired a whole list of new
talent. He helped spawn the Dr.Espling we all know and love. Sickle
has since abandoned his pursuit of music and can be found running the
streets of New Castle, PA.
Jakyl
Jakk was one of the premiere rap artist on the east
coast. He single handedly put the Pittsburgh rap scene on the map.
He produced the underground hip-hop show Battle Dome, which featured
some of the area’s hottest up and coming talent. Jakyl’s
time with Deface saw the release of 2 albums, “Illworld”
and “The Battle Dome Soundtrack” along with a DVD video
single for the track So High. After several years of Deface Loyalty,
Jakyl moved on to what was poised to be a very successful solo career.
The Illness
This group began taking the internet by storm in 2003,
and quickly grew a fan base across the nation. Though the comdenation
of Sickle Cell, Dr.Espling and Jakyl proved to be volatile, these
three produced several of the finest tracks Deface has ever released.
After racking up some impressive tour slots, including shows with
2 Live Crew, Marz & Esham, the group imploded as most “Supergroups”
do.
Zipper Stitch
The boys in Zipper Stitch took what began as a bar
band and turned it into a force to be reckoned with. With countless
shows under their belt, they were poised to take on the music industry
in a toe to toe battle that was undoubtedly going to be a knock out,
drag out brawl. The band coined a full ablum of hook laden metal tracks
that could start a mosh pit
within any crowd.
However, front man extraordinaire, Josh Alters, had a harder edge vibe
running through his veins, his desire to make hard and heavy music
forced him to make the hard descion to leave the Zipper Stitch and
start a new group called One Step Away. Zipper Stitch continues on
to this day with a new singer and a more melodic sound.

Dyce
Dyce was one of the hottest street
rappers the ‘burgh had to offer, with no fear he would step out
of his element and battle anyone anywhere. He sought out the competition
and was ready to spit at a moment's notice. He would roll up in the
hood, he would be the only white guy for miles. But he showed no fear,
only desire to earn the respect of the street one block at a time.
