“XPW Television: Season 2 Preview
By Mark Glady

Big Vision is gearing up to bring out yet another wrestling DVD on January 15th, this time in the form of Xtreme Pro Wrestling Television: Season 2. I’m not really sure what to expect on this DVD considering there wasn’t really much going on in XPW at the time these episodes aired. I checked out the trailer for it and it seemed to have a LOT of clips from Season 1, and not too much new stuff, as I believe most of season 2, if not all of it, came from the “Go Funk Yourself“ show which took place on July 22, 2000 in Los Angeles. Then as I read the Big Vision site’s preview, they admitted that XPW had taken 4 months off during this season and didn‘t run at all between July and November, so to fill the void on the DVD they have decided to add some never before seen matches. What that means I have no idea. It could be unseen XPW footage or another indy, or 2 kids on a trampoline. I guess we’ll have to wait to find out.

Some of the matches that you can expect on this DVD include:
(Confirmed Matches)
XPW World Title Match:
Sabu w/ Josh Lazie vs. Terry Funk w/ Rob Black

XPW King of the Death Match Championship Match:
Supreme w/ Kristi Myst vs. The Messiah w/ Lizzy Borden

Tool w/ Luis Cypher vs. “White Trash” Johnny Webb w/ Jessica Darlin

(Unconfirmed Matches, but I’m sure they’ll be on there)
Pogo the Clown vs. Nosawa

The Westside & Carlito Montana vs. Mexico’s Most Wanted & Rey Misterio, Sr.

“I Quit” Match:
Kid Kaos vs. Steve Rizzono

Three-Way Dance:
“White Trash” Johnny Webb vs. Homeless Jimmy vs. John Kronus

Loser Leaves XPW:
Tracy Smothers vs. Kid Kaos

Here in the Midwest we didn’t get XPW television, so I’m really quite interested to see how they shaped their program in season 2 considering the lack of product they had at their disposal. Either way you look at it, when you run a wrestling show and have no new matches to air, you’re screwed. That doesn’t ever bode well. Not for the company, and especially not for the fans. Did they somehow make it work? I guess we’ll find out soon enough, and if not, I hope for their sake they packed a ton of extras on this thing.

If you’re interested in preordering the DVD you can do so by going to www.BigVisionEntertainment.com, and clicking into the store section, or visit www.bvdvd.com.
